5 Things To Do This Fall At Walt Disney World

Tommy and I will be heading down for our trip to Walt Disney World on October 27. At that point, Halloween celebrations will be in full swing! If you’re headed to Walt Disney World Resort between now and November 1st here’s what you/we have to look forward to enjoying:

#1: Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
August 25 – November 1, 2017

This is a must-do at Halloween time! Special halloween decor, after-hours access to featured attractions, halloween treats, costumes, trick or treating, shows and live music, Boo to You Parade, Happy Hallowishes, the best night of the year to experience the Haunted Mansion, phew! This night is chock-full of tricks and treats. While I’ve been to WDW plenty of times during the fall season, I have never actually attended a ‘MNSSHP’ and can’t wait.  Who else wants to say they celebrated Halloween at the Magic Kingdom!?

#2: Epcot International Food & Wine Festival
August 31 – November 13, 2017

Epcot is celebrating its 35th anniversary, and this year’s Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is bigger and better than ever, featuring 35 unique marketplaces and venues. Sample foods and beverages from around the globe, attend special lectures and courses featuring celebrity chefs and personalities in the food industry, and catch an Eat to the Beat concert at the America Gardens Theater. While Tommy and I have our favorite foods we like to check off our list every year, we’ll be working hard this vacation to sample as many items as possible!

#3: Happily Ever After Fireworks Show
May 12, 2017 – Ongoing

Taking the place of Wishes is the Happily Ever After Fireworks Show, which seamlessly ties into the Once Upon a Time projection show on Cinderella Castle just beforehand. Based on all of the technological advancements, this looks like a show for all senses- but it also seems that in order to really experience the show as it is meant to be seen, you need to be in the Magic Kingdom. I tuned into the live YouTube viewing of Happily Ever After when it debuted on May 12 and I was left with tears in my eyes and a full heart. I cannot wait to see this show in person. While I will definitely miss Wishes and listen to the soundtrack fondly, I think this is a fresh, modern celebration of Disney films new and nostalgic.

#4: Pandora – The World of Avatar
May 27, 2017 – Ongoing

I watched Avatar with Tommy at home the day Pandora opened at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. I somehow missed the memo the first time around when everyone was seeing the film in theaters for the first time. While I really enjoyed Avatar, I will be interested to see how this land fits in with the anticipated series of Avatar films. I am enchanted by the design of the area and look forward to taking it all in by day AND by night. Based on photos I’ve seen, day and night look like two unique experiences. I want to ride the new attractions, taste the “local” offerings, and enjoy the nature around me.
