While it may still be winter in most parts of the country (like mine), it is officially springtime in Walt Disney World! The 2018 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival begins next Wednesday, February 28. Four months of beautiful floral arrangements all around Future World and World Showcase, stunning topiaries, and of course – festival music, food and drinks! Here’s what to expect:

Epcot Celebrates 35 Years!

On Sunday, October 1 Epcot will be celebrating its 35th anniversary!

The Food & Wine festival has 35 marketplaces in honor of the anniversary, and novelty anniversary souvenirs and t-shirts featuring vintage Epcot logos are available for purchase. For those who don’t know, Epcot is my favorite park. It was Walt’s dream to see this idea become a reality, and I believe Epcot has inspired generations of global citizens to rethink our “Future World” and “World Showcase” including me! We’ve seen Epcot grow and develop in its 35 years, and I am hopeful that the future of the park will be as bright as its beginnings.

Tips for Running the 2017 Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend – Presented by MISFIT™

We’re less than three months away from the 2017 Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend – Presented by MISFIT™!

You’ve been training hard all summer and you’ve likely already booked your accommodations, flights, and dining reservations. The 60 day FP+ date will be here before you know it and after that it won’t be long until you are in Walt Disney World Resort!

I ran the 2016 Wine & Dine Half Marathon last year and had a blast. Whether this is your first Wine & Dine weekend or your eighth, you are bound to have a fun, festive race and celebratory post-race party!

In celebration of its 8th year as a runDisney event, here are my top 8 tips for making the most of the Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend:

A Love Letter to Epcot

I visited Epcot for the first time October of 1999. Back then, the Millennium Celebration was in full swing, the Food & Wine Festival wasn’t nearly as robust and park attendance was fairly sleepy. But as a nine year old, I was immediately captured by the sights and sounds of Epcot and deemed it my favorite park of the four at the Walt Disney World Resort.

After a bit of a hiatus (writer’s block and a busy running schedule) I’m back with another exciting chapter of “Whistle While You Work” Walt Disney World theme music to get you through your day (or to get you through until your next visit!)
