Will Run for Disney’s October Trip to Walt Disney World

Hi Friends!

As I mentioned in my last post, Tommy and I just got back from our Halloween/late October trip to Walt Disney World! Last year after the Wine & Dine Half Marathon we vowed to take a fall trip this year in order to experience Halloween and go to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. While I consider myself a WDW expert, I had never actually attended the halloween festivities before (and had to change that ASAP!) Here’s a highlight reel of our adventures with pictures:

I’m back from WDW!

Hi everyone!

I’m sorry I didn’t get a chance to write-up a weekly training update or a runDisney news update. But I hope you were following along on my Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr because I was in the most magical place on earth – Walt Disney World Resort, of course! We took our time celebrating Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival and it’s 35th anniversary, exploring the new Pandora – World of Avatar, and of course, capping off our trip with Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on Halloween night! It was a magical trip. I’ll do a quick write-up and share some photos in my next post.

In the meantime, stay tuned for this Sunday and Monday when I’ll be back on schedule! For those running this weekend’s Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend races, go get ’em!

Keep calm and run first, wine later! 🙂

Epcot Celebrates 35 Years!

On Sunday, October 1 Epcot will be celebrating its 35th anniversary!

The Food & Wine festival has 35 marketplaces in honor of the anniversary, and novelty anniversary souvenirs and t-shirts featuring vintage Epcot logos are available for purchase. For those who don’t know, Epcot is my favorite park. It was Walt’s dream to see this idea become a reality, and I believe Epcot has inspired generations of global citizens to rethink our “Future World” and “World Showcase” including me! We’ve seen Epcot grow and develop in its 35 years, and I am hopeful that the future of the park will be as bright as its beginnings.

Just Announced: 2017 Candlelight Processional Narrators

Disney Parks Blog just announced the names of some of the narrators for the 2017 Candlelight Processional. If you are planning a holiday vacation to Walt Disney World Resort and have never experienced the Candlelight Processional, it is a must-see. The Candlelight Processional is a live, holiday show in the America Gardens Theater at Epcot’s World Showcase. Featuring a spectacular, gigantic local choir and full-piece orchestra, the show celebrates the spirit of the season with family-favorite Christmas songs and stories.

Keep in mind, this is a spiritual, somber yet friendly atmosphere. I am always blown away by how beautiful the entire production is, and how reverent and humbled the narrator is by participating in this special event.

Show times this year will take place at 5:00PM, 6:45PM and 8:15PM. Dining packages are available. See the Walt Disney World website for details.

Processional narrators to-date:

  • Nov. 24- 26 – To Be Announced
  • Nov. 27-28 – Matt Bomer (“White Collar”, “The Last Tycoon”)
  • Nov. 29 – 30 – To Be Announced
  • Dec. 1-3 – Whoopi Goldberg (“The View”)
  • Dec. 4-5 – Pat Sajak (“Wheel of Fortune”)
  • Dec. 6-11 – To Be Announced
